The Nia Technique
Dance Arts, Martial Arts and Postural Healing Arts are combined in choreographed dance to strengthen the body, mind, and emotions in a way that creates JOY in all four Realms.

N I A = Neuromuscular Integrated Action.
Nia is a fitness form that fuses dance arts, martial arts and healing arts into choreographed routines designed to activate the cardiovascular system while creating balance, flexibility, agility, coordination and strength through the alignment of the hips, shoulders and head.

Benefits include:
• Stronger pelvic girdle
• Lower back and thighs
• Improved posture
• Grace in movement and overall mind/body awareness

Classes are one hour in length to allow for ease of tension, stress or other emotions through cathartic release the choreography and music evoke for each routine. Beginner through Advanced in the same class; no prior experience required. While dancing Nia, both the dominant and non-dominant sides of the body are used equally, creating new neurological pathways in the brain, keeping the “Brain Muscle” flexible too. Mat Pilates
The art of controlled movements which improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. Mat Pilates puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, as well as improving coordination and balance. The core, consisting of the muscles of the abdomen, low back, and hips, is often called the "powerhouse" and is the key to a person's stability. The Mat Pilates system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginner to advanced or to any other level, and also in terms of the practitioner's specific goals and/or limitations. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Power Hips
Combining the principles of Pilates with Vinyasa Flow and the Nia Technique, this class is for those wishing to increase stability in their hips, lower back and legs while incorporating flexibility, agility, mobility, and strength into their entire body from fingers to toes.
